Filming on site Feb 13

Hello neighbors,

Just a heads up that a production company will be filming scenes for a new Marvel Comic TV pilot in the church on Monday, Feb 13. There will be a few days of setup (2/9-2/12) and breakdown (2/14-2/15) but activity on those days should be contained entirely to our site.

Monday, Feb 13 should be the only day to see increased activity, but there will be vans shuttling people to the site to minimize crowding and parking issues. The only street parking to get blocked off at any time will be Monday, Feb 13, one block of Burgundy between Marigny and Mandeville. That evening, they plan to shoot until midnight.

The production company has been good at communicating directly with immediate neighbors, and if you'd like to know more, the best contact there is Ashley Bunge at 504.799.0125.  You can always email or call me (504.715.7142) as well.

Financing and construction update coming soon.

Financing Update

Hello neighbors,

As you may have read in the news, local bank First NBC has run into trouble with the FDIC. Unfortunately for us, they were providing our construction loan, which the regulators have ordered them to halt. This sets our timeline back several months as we have to go back to the drawing board and find another lender.

We are confident we will find another solution, although of course disappointed by the lost time. We will let you know as soon as we are ready to proceed. Thanks for your patience and as always, feel free to reach out with any questions to stpeterandpaulfeedback@gmail.com

Financing Update

We are now on track to close financing in late fall instead of late summer, and apologize for the amount of time it has taken. These historic renovations are extremely complex to finance and despite our experience in the field we are still surprised by how long this particular project has taken to come together. That said, although the train is slow-moving, it is still on the tracks, and we expect to start construction immediately after close of financing. As previously stated, we’ll post a start date once we have one and notify immediate neighbors by mail. You can email stpeterandpaulfeedback@gmail.com with any questions, we’re always happy to hear from you.

(Non)-Construction Update

Due to the same frustrating delays we were experiencing during our March update, construction has been pushed back to late summer.  We'll post a start date once we have one and will also send letters to the immediate neighbors so they're not caught by surprise.  Feel free to reach out to stpeterandpaulfeedback@gmail.com with any questions.

In the meantime, we are still looking for oral histories, so if you or anyone you know wants to reminisce about the good ol' days at St Peter and Paul, please be in touch!

St Peter & Paul Update - and Oral History Project!

Planning permissions and permitting have delayed the start of construction - we now anticipate breaking ground this spring.

In other news, we are looking for former parishioners, students and other people tied to the St Peter & Paul community to participate in an oral history project and share your stories.  Please contact us at stpeterandpaulfeedback@gmail.com if you are interested in walking down memory lane with us!

Interior Demo Update

Hi neighbors,

You may have seen some trucks coming in and out of St Peter & Paul so we just wanted to give you an update.  We started some interior demolition last week to uncover hidden conditions which will continue for about 6 weeks.  Then there will be a lull while we finalize our plans and financing using the information gathered during the demo stage.  We are shooting to start the proper construction period around January 2016.  During this early phase, our contractors and subs have been instructed to contain their equipment to the parking lot to the extent possible.

As always, feel free to email with any questions or concerns at stpeterandpaulfeedback@gmail.com.
