Interior Demo Update

Hi neighbors,

You may have seen some trucks coming in and out of St Peter & Paul so we just wanted to give you an update.  We started some interior demolition last week to uncover hidden conditions which will continue for about 6 weeks.  Then there will be a lull while we finalize our plans and financing using the information gathered during the demo stage.  We are shooting to start the proper construction period around January 2016.  During this early phase, our contractors and subs have been instructed to contain their equipment to the parking lot to the extent possible.

As always, feel free to email with any questions or concerns at stpeterandpaulfeedback@gmail.com.

Streetlight Update

Entergy has fixed the security light on the utility pole at Burgundy/Marigny and installed a new one at Burgundy/Mandeville.  We also replaced about a dozen exterior light bulbs that had burned out so the block is looking noticeably brighter!

Streetlight out on Burgundy & Marigny

It's come to our attention that a light on the corner of Burgundy & Marigny has been out for a couple of weeks.  The outage was reported to the city on 2/19 and will supposedly take 4-6 weeks to fix.  The case number is 101000364482 in case anyone wants to ask about progress, and I will be following up as well.

Site Purchased!

Last week we successfully purchased the site from its previous owners!  As previously stated, we anticipate it will take 6 - 9 months to finalize designs and obtain the required city permits, then 1 - 1.5 years of renovation work before we open doors.

As always with rehabilitation projects, particularly those of a historic nature like this one, timelines are a moving target, but we will post updates to this blog with any notable changes.

Danni Productions will be filming in the nun's quarters for one day on Tuesday 2/10.  They will be staging on Elysian Fields and blocking off street parking right in front of the church and on the side at Mandeville St.  If you have any queries or complaints, contact location manager Evan Eastham at (561) 703-0243.
